I think we see a regression to the norm tonight for the Cubs offense vs Kwang-hyun Kim. He has been solid with a 2.41 ERA in his last 5 starts. The Cubs don’t hit the ball well and when they do it’s thriving off the long ball. Kim is averaging only 0.81 HR/9 innings and the wind is blowing in tonight to his benefit.
On the other side Zach Davies takes the mound for the Cubs. Davies has faced this Cardinals line up twice this season and it’s been some of his best performance of the season. In 11.2 innings he’s allowed 6 hits and 0 earned runs vs a weak Cardinals line up. The struggle at the plate with a .301 OBS and 26th worst batting average in the league. For what it’s worth both games went Under the Total when he faced them this year.
The line has moved up from 7.5 to 8 and I disagree with the move here and will gladly play Under 8 runs
