My weekly blog special the “Smart Money Report” Week 5 edition is here to help you guys out. Make sure to check here every Thursday during NFL season as I utilize all my sharps aka professional bettor contacts, Las Vegas Oddsmaker contacts, and NYC bookies to give you the info on what’s happening behind the counter in the NFL betting marketplace with every game on the board.
I always preach to pay attention to opening numbers. If you want to win like as sharp you have to think like a sharp I always say. Remember sharps aka professional bettors bet early in the week into opening numbers to get themselves the best value possible.
Remember squares aka the general betting public usually wait to place their bets until gameday before kick off. So any early moves you see during the beginning of the week is sharp money.
It’s important to realize that every early sharp move isn’t them holding on to that position. Sometimes it’s head fake money which is sharps moving a line in order to get a more favorable number on game day betting the other side.
Thursday
New England @ Tampa Bay
Mostly public action in Vegas on the Patriots here but my Vegas guy says some sharp money on Tampa Bay came and moved this from 5.5 to 5 at his shop. He said sharps are split on the Total with some guys Under and others Over. He said money wise more is on the Over due to public money as well.
Sunday
LA Chargers @ NY Giants
Sharps like the dog and the Over here. My guys tells me the Chargers have been bet down from +4 to +3 and the total is up 44.5 to 45.5.
Cincinnati @ Buffalo
Nothing to report on this game yet.
NY Jets @ Cleveland
Sharps and the betting pubkic like the Jets here betting them from +2 to a PK at my guys shop. He said almost 3/4 of tickets are on the Jets with over 85% of the money on the Jets The total is up a half of tick from 39 to 39.5. He said he likely will be rooting for Cleveland here.
Jacksonville @ Pittsburgh
Nothing on the side but the Total sharps like the Under betting him down from 44 to 43.
Tennessee @ Miami

San Francisco @ Indianapolis
Sharps like the Over in this one pushing this line up to 45 from a 43 opener according to my Vegas bookmaker source.
Arizona @ Philadelphia
Nothing to report early on this one.
Carolina @ Detroit
Sharps like the dog and the Under here. My Vegas guy said sharps took the Panthers at +3. They also moved him down to 42.5 from a 44 opener.
Seattle @ LA Rams
Sharps like the dog here betting Seattle from a +2.5 dog to a +1 dog.
Baltimore @ Oakland
Sharps in Vegas like the Under here moving my Vegas guy from 40 to 39.
Green Bay @ Dallas
A little sharp interest on the Cowboys moving them up from -2 to a -2.5 favorite early this week.
Kansas City @ Houston
Sharps in Vegas like the dog and the Under in this one. My guy said they took the Texans+1.5 and also bet him down to 46 from a 47 opener. He noted 3/4 of his tickets are on the Chiefs but double the money count is on the Texans.
