My weekly blog special the “Smart Money Report” Week 3 edition is here to help you guys out. Make sure to check here every Thursday during NFL season as I utilize all my sharps aka professional bettor contacts, Las Vegas Oddsmaker contacts, and NYC bookies to give you the info on what’s happening behind the counter in the NFL betting marketplace with every game on the board.
I always preach to pay attention to opening numbers. If you want to win like as sharp you have to think like a sharp I always say. Remember sharps aka professional bettors bet early in the week into opening numbers to get themselves the best value possible.
Remember squares aka the general betting public usually wait to place their bets until gameday before kick off. So any early moves you see during the beginning of the week is sharp money.
It’s important to realize that every early sharp move isn’t them holding on to that position. Sometimes it’s head fake money which is sharps moving a line in order to get a more favorable number on game day betting the other side.
Thursday
Los Angeles Rams @ San Francisco 49’ers
My Vegas contact tells me he opened this at 2.5 and early Rams support pushed this up to 3 where some opposing sharps came in on the 49’ers +3 forcing him back to 2.5. He did note when he went back to 2.5 that the other sharps came in again on the Rams-2.5 forcing him back up 3 where he currently sits. He said about 70% of his bets and money are on the Rams here. Sharps hit the Under moving him from 41 to 39.5.
Sunday
Baltimore vs Jacksonville
Sharps came in on the dog here for the London game moving this from 4.5 down to 3.5 as we go to press. Sharps also hit the Under going from 40.5 to 39.
Cleveland @ Indianapolis
Nothing significant to report on this game.
Pittsburgh @ Chicago
Sharps took the Bears+7.5 but noted at +7 all is quiet. He also said sharps took the Under at 45 but after moving to 44 all is quiet there as well.
Miami @ NY Jets
My Vegas oddsmaker contact tells me 70% of his tickets are on the Dolphins here. Nothing to report on the side but he did note some sharp interest on the Over moving him from 41 to 42.5.
Denver @ Buffalo
All Denver money here. My Vegas bookmaker tells me he has almost 9 out of 10 bets on the Broncos here. He said he definitely will be rooting for Buffalo Sunday as a need. His total is down a half of tick from 40.5 to 40 as we go to press.
Houston @ New England
Here’s another lopsided game as he tells me almost 9 out of 10 bets are on the Patriots here and he’ll be rooting for the Texans as a big need come Sunday. All the New England money forced him to move from 13 to 13.5 hoping to entice some sharp money on Houston. He said his total is up a half of tick from 43.5 to 44.
New Orleans @ Carolina
My Vegas contact told me he took some sharp support for the Saints at +6 moving to 5.5 where all is quiet. He said sharps hit him on the Under at 48 but when he moved to 47 the love stopped.
Tampa Bay @ Minnesota
Off the board at time of interview for blog.
Atlanta @ Detroit
Three out of four tickets he has written are on Atlanta here. He said he likely will be rooting for Detroit come Sunday. Nothing on the side but he did report sharps and the public both like the Over and he moved from 48.5 to 50.5 on this total.
NY Giants @ Philadelphia
More than 4 out of 5 tickets my Vegas bookmaker has written in Sin City on the Eagles here and he likely will need the Giants Sunday. He said he opened this at 6 and all is quiet. But he did note both the public and sharps money is on the Under forcing him to move this total to 42.5 from a 43.5 opener.
Seattle @ Tennessee
In the desert my guy tells me sharps are split on this one. Some sharps like the Seahawks-2.5 and others like the Titans+3. He said his total is down a half of tick from 43 to 42.5.
Kansas City @ Los Angeles Chargers
Lopsided action here on the side with almost 80% tickets written on the Chiefs here. My guy said he will be pulling for the Chargers likely come Sunday. He said sharp and public interest on the Over moved him from 45.5 to 47.5
Cincinnati @ Green Bay
Lots of money on the Packers with almost 90% ticket count on Green Bay at his shops come Sunday. He said despite the lopsided ticket count sharps are interested in the Bengals a bit here and bet him down from 9.5 to 8.5. He said he’s gotten two way action from sharps on the total with some guys on the Under at 45.5 and 45 and other guys on the Over at 44.5 and 45. He said this Total has been bouncing around all week.
Oakland @ Washington
Nothing from Vegas to report on this one early this week.
Monday
Dallas @ Arizona
Two way action on the side here. My Vegas guy tells me some sharps are on the Cowboys-3 and others are on the Cardinals +3.5. He did note his total is down a half of tick from 47.5 to 47.
Sometimes I agree with these early moves and sometimes I don’t. One thing I can say in my opinion has been a strong one.
