NCAA-FB XMas Bowl Weekend Smart Money Report

The 2012/2013 College Football Bowl Season has begun. Every week I’ll be breaking down every single Bowl game giving you a birds eye view of how the money is flowing behind the coutner. Make sure to check with me as I utilize all my sharps aka professional bettor contacts, Las Vegas Oddsmaker contacts, and NYC bookies to give you the info on what’s happening behind the counter in the NCAA-FB Bowl betting marketplace with every game on the board.

I always preach to pay attention to opening numbers. If you want to win like as sharp you have to think like a sharp I always say. Remember sharps aka professional bettors bet early in the week into opening numbers to get themselves the best value possible.

Remember squares aka the general betting public usually wait to place their bets until gameday before kick off. So any early moves you see during the beginning of the week is sharp money.

It’s important to realize that every early sharp move isn’t them holding on to that position. Sometime it’s head fake money which is sharps moving a line in order to get a more favorable number on game day betting the other side.

Thursday
San Diego County CU Poinsettia
San Diego State vs BYU (-3.5, O/U 48.5)
This line opened at BYU-1.5 earlier this month according to my Vegas oddsmaker and since then it’s been all BYU money pushing this up to -3.5 crossing the key number of 3 with no buy back yet on the dog. He did say you may see some other sharps come in on the dog at anything over 3 on game day. The total opened at 49 and has been bet down a half of tick to 48.5. Different story here in NYC this game opened 3 and at one point was bet down to 2.5 with sharp support on San Diego State. The # was then bet back up to 3. So in NYC at our local bookies it’s been San Diego State love at +3 and other sharps on BYU-2.5. The total has been bet down from 49.5 to 48.5 with a little Under support.

Friday
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s
Ball State vs. UCF (-7, O/U 61.5)
My Vegas bookmaker source told earlier this month this opened at Central Florida-7.5 and UCF was bet up to 8 before seeing some sharp money come in on the dog moving this back down to 7. He said all has been quiet at the key # of 7 over the past couple of weeks. He said the total opened at 61 and was bet up a half of tick to 61.5. Here in NYC this opened at 8.5 and it was all love on the dog moving this down to 7. My local NYC bookie source told me once the line hit 7 the sharp love stopped. So sharps liked Ball State at anything over 7. He has nothing early to report on the total.

Saturday
R+L Carriers New Orleans
East Carolina vs. UL Lafayette_-5, O/U 65.5)
My Vegas bookmaker contact told me he opened UL-Lafayette at -4.5 and was bet as high as -5.5 this week before the number finally settled back at 5. He did say he never went to 6 but knows other bookmakers on the strip in Vegas that did hit 6 and saw some sharp support come in on ECU at 6. He said he moved back down to 5 which is a dead number by the way once he got word of sharps hitting ECU at 6. Nothing early to report on the total. Here in NYC this opened at 5.5 and the early support was on UL-Lafayette at -5.5 and hit -6. My local source said within the last few days the sharps scooped up the +6 on ECU and this has moved down to 5 come press time. The total opened at 63.5 and was bet up to 65.5 with support on the Over coming in.

MAACO Bowl Las Vegas
Boise State vs. Washington (+5.5, O/U 44.5)
This opened at 7 on the Vegas strip and my Vegas contact said he early sharp support on Washington at +7 pushing this number down to 6 within hours of opening early this month. He said the line got as low as 5 before settling at 5.5 come press time. He opened the total at 45.5 and got up to 46.5 before seeing a wave of sharp money come in on the Under moving this down to 44.5 come press time. Here in NYC my local bookie source told me they opened the side up at 5.5 and took a little but of sharp money on the dog moving this down to 5 but all has been pretty quiet he said. He said the Under has been the sharp moving betting this down from 46.5 to 45.5 come press time.

Sheraton Hawaii
Fresno State vs. SMU (+12, O/U 59.5)
This opened at 12 on the Vegas strip and early this month a little sharp money came in on the dog moving this down to 11.5 before a wave of money came in on Fresno State here moving this up to 12.5 come press time. My contact told me he opened the total at 59 and was bet down to 58 before settling back at 59 come press time. Here in NYC my local bookie source told me they opened this at -11 and the Fresno State money has been trickling in moving this up to -12 come press time. He said the total opened 59 and was bet up a half of tick to 59.5 come press time.
